Arc.
I’ve always wanted to build my personal website from scratch. I wrote this in July 2023 during college. The website is no longer overengineered and uses Astro + MDX now. The content remains unchanged. Something that would feel entirely my own, from its color scheme to the tech stack. So, I did!
In ways this website is over-engineered, took an insane amount of time, got super frustrating but it did teach me invaluable lessons, especially over project management.
The Why.
Throughout life we all get to have countless unique experiences that ultimately die with us and hence this blog.
The How.
I built this using NextJS, Sanity.io and TailwindCSS. If those words look alien to you:
NextJS — Provides a platform for data to be presented in a structured way.
TailwindCSS — Styles everything on the website.
Sanity.io — Manages and feeds data to NextJS.
If you’d like to look deeper under the hood, here is a link. While you are at it, do check out Lee Robinson, Tushar Nankani, and William Thomson’s websites. They served as a great source of inspiration for mine.
The What.
I look at this as my personal space to share everything that intrigues me — observations, learnings, experiences, reflections, creations… anything that has something to offer to you. Also whether it’s tech-related or not, I’ll try my best to explain everything in layman terms.
The best part? Apart from being a platform to share things, this also acts as a time capsule for me to look back at my life.
So, welcome to my Arc. I hope you’ll enjoy it :)
PS — I never expected this but writing a blog had my brain cells working overtime, I hope I get better at this -_-
